Liu Yong was a famous Ci poet in the Northern Song Dynasty. His works were very popular at that time.
Prime Minister Lv Yijian asked Liu Yong to write two Ci poems for his 60th birthday. It wasn't long before the Ci poems were sent to the Prime Minister. At first, Lv Yijian read the lines pleasantly, but when he saw the sentence "I don't ask for wealth, but people have to beg me for articles." Lv Yijian suddenly changed his face and said angrily, "He is too arrogant. Do I need to beg him?!"
From then on, Lv Yijian held a grudge and took the opportunity to denigrate Liu Yong in the emperor's presence.
The emperor also disliked Liu Yong's arrogance, "Let him be an untitled minister and conduct poems in wherever he likes." Therefore, Liu Yong failed in the imperial examination again.
