Once, when his father was chatting with his friends, they admired him for having a clever son. While his father said with disappointment, "My son is not as good as younger me. I don't think he has a promising future." Hearing that, Zuo Si was sad and felt sorry. Then he decided to study hard.

The work was widely-praised, and people compared it with the Han Dynasty masterpiece Ode to the Two Capitals of the Dynasty of East Han and West Han.

Since typography was not invented at that time, people who loved the work could only copy it by hand. The paper supply was in short because of the numerous hand-copied work and the paper price went up. Therefore, the idiom “Luoyang zhi gui” is used to describe the popularity of a masterpiece.
